To transfer a .au domain between Registrars you need to obtain the Domain Transfer Password. This can be done by clicking here. The password will be sent through to the administrative contact's email address. Alternatively you can obtain this password through the current Registrar. Once you have this information you are able to submit a transfer to Bottle Domains by going to www.bottledomains.com.au/transfer. Here you will be asked for the domain you wish to transfer as well as the domain password and your account login details if you already have an account with Bottle Domains, if you do not you will have the opportunity to create one here. A .au transfer to Bottle Domains is free, however, if the domain is within 90 days of expiry, you will be prompted to renew the domain at time of transfer submission. This will simply add 2 years to the existing expiry date. Once transfer submission is complete, the administrative contact of the domain will be sent an email to authorize the transfer request. THEY MUST CLICK THE LINK IN THIS EMAIL. If the email address is incorrect, the Registrant must fax in a signed request to us to force this transfer across to Bottle Domains. Our fax number is (03) 8080 1623. Once transfer has been approved it will be in an active state of "pending transfer" for 2 days and will then be registered with Bottle Domains. You are able to transfer your domain after expiry, but we would not recommend doing this once your domain name has been expired for longer than 10 days.
